what our drivers say

“JMS is a good place to work – I like my equipment. I have a brand new truck and a brand new trailer… The managers and dispatchers don’t ride you… And there’s nobody looking over your shoulder – they expect you to do your job, and get home safely, which I like.”

Mostly 60 cents per mile for all routed miles loaded and empty. Some loads or work pays hourly ($20 minimum/hr).

  • Varies depending on the driver’s hours of service. We have loads which have specific loading and/or delivery times, some with delivery windows, and some that have open delivery, so it depends on when the driver starts and stops the shift. They have the option to choose their load most of the time, so they get to start at the time that works best for their HOS and still make delivery as scheduled.

New Year’s, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas – we are discussing adding a floating holiday as well. Plus the driver receives the holiday pay plus the load pay if they work on the holiday.

We keep hauling during inclement weather as long as it’s safe to do so.

When in route empty and with management approval each time. It has more to do with security and safety due to what we haul.

Yes, drivers will need both hazmat and tanker endorsements to be considered for an interview. We only haul tankers and very little of that is non-haz product.

No, they do not need to have it to get hired but it will be required afterwards. JMS will help them get it if needed and we reimburse the full amount for it.

You would mainly be running from Memphis to Little Rock to El Dorado to Memphis and back to Little Rock. There are some variances but they are rare.
